Touching All Bases

(1939) 44 min. 1939 is considered one of the greatest years in the history of baseball. From sandlot baseball to the Major Leagues, baseball’s Centennial is celebrated on a grand scale in this star-studded cinematic homage presented by The American League and the Kellogg Co. Included are Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth speaking at opening of the Cooperstown Baseball Museum, highlights of the 1939 World Series, the first nighttime baseball game, fielding and batting instruction by famous major leaguers like Ted Williams, Bob Feller, Jimmie Foxx, Joe DiMaggio and many more!

We see Joe at training camp, reading, relaxing, playing pool, dining, playing “hot records” on his phonograph, answering fan letters from around the world, working out with trainer Jack Blackburn, shadow boxing, weighing in before a bout and more.
